Who We Are
ICON LAW brings together advocates and legal consultants with substantial and different ranges of years of experience and qualifications. At ICON LAW we have advocates and legal consultants with more than 25 years of practice and consultancy experience as well as young vibrant lawyers whose experience and practice range from 5 to 15 years. Our team boasts of lawyers with academic credentials ranging from the first degree in law (LL.B), Master of laws (LL.M) to Doctor of laws (LL.D). Our journey as a firm started way back with Muwanguzi & Co. Advocates in the year 2001, then came in Kiiza, Tumwesige, Ssemambo Advocates in 2012; and the firms have evolved into the current ICON LAW and continues to grow to meet the growing needs of our clientele. Our clients will therefore be assured of the highest levels of competence in the handling of all the matters entrusted with us. ICON LAW’s network of firms ensures that our clients obtain a seamless quality service throughout the East African Region, the rest of Africa and indeed in many other jurisdictions.
ICON LAW’S Partners and associated attorneys, advocates and consultants, have long experience in legal practice, legal consultancy and legal academia spanning many years. The firm has substantial experience in advising clients on complex matters relating to inter alia – Corporate and Commercial Transactions, Investment, Concessions and licencing, Banking and Finance, employment and labour relations, immigration, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and other related capital transactions such as bonds and Notes, litigation, arbitration & other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, contracts negotiation, drafting and management. The firm also provides assistance in obtaining regulatory approvals and ensuring compliance for our clients – right from the central and local governments as well as other government authorities for newly established legal entities, already going entities or any other form of business and organisations operating in Uganda or other regional jurisdictions.
